Coming Together for Our Community

As we prepared for Thanksgiving, our team at Specialty Bolt & Screw’s Headquarters came together to support families in our local community. What started as a simple collection effort turned into a generous display of canned goods, boxed meals, breakfast items, baking staples, and everyday essentials. We are proud to share that our team donated 173 pounds of food, which provides an estimated 144 meals for households in Western Massachusetts.

This effort supported two organizations that play an important role in addressing food insecurity in our region: the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and the Born Free Outreach Services.

Supporting the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts

The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts serves thousands of individuals and families across Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire counties. Through its network of local partners and programs, the Food Bank provides access to nutritious food year-round. Our team’s contributions help support this ongoing mission and will assist families during a time of year when the need is often felt more strongly.

Partnering with Born Free Outreach Services

We were also grateful for the opportunity to donate to the Born Free Food Pantry, part of Born Free Outreach Services. Born Free supports approximately 250 families each week by providing groceries and essential items to anyone in the community who need assistance.  Their indoor location is open every day, allowing individuals to come in ass needed, and Born Free Outreach Services partner with the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts during their official distribution day on Tuesdays.

On Wednesdays, Born Free volunteers deliver food directly to individuals who are sick, blind, or living with disabilities.  This service ensures that community members who may have difficulty traveling or accessing transportation still receive the support they need.  It is a thoughtful and compassionate model that removes barriers and brings help directly to people’s homes.

Born Free shares more about their mission on the Fabulous 413 Podcast, and additional information about how to get involved can be found at bornfreeoutreachservices.org. Their dedication to providing reliable, compassionate support aligns closely with values that matter to us as a company.

A Team Effort That Reflect Who We Are

The amount collected is something we are proud of, although the most meaningful part was seeing our team contribute thoughtfully throughout the week. Employees stopped by the donation table with items they knew would be useful to others. The enthusiasm was genuine and the participation came naturally. Moments like this remind us that small efforts can create a real impact when people work together with a common goal.

Company culture is built on everyday actions. For us, this food drive reflects what we value at SBS: teamwork, reliability, and showing up for the communities where we live and work.

The SBS Difference

At SBS, we don’t just move products, we move processes forward.  Our team takes pride in being an extension of yours, supporting the systems that power your production.  Whether you need fasteners, per-print components, or complete kitting and packaging services, our tailored supply chain programs are designed specifically for your business to improve efficiency and reliability across your entire operation.
